Why I write
Long story short: I’m a young woman living in California who loves to read, write, think, and draw who is looking for people to talk with!
Long story long: I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, and loneliness for most of my life. For a long time, I didn’t really want to be here, but over the years I’ve realized that existing isn’t actually so bad. Life is still hard sometimes, and I still have days where everything feels heavy. The difference from younger me to me now is that I’ve learned how to feel those emotions without letting them swallow me whole.
The Law of Conservation of Energy states energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed.
That made me wonder: If all of this pain can’t just disappear, then why not turn it into something else? Why not turn it into writing?
That’s really why this blog exists…
I don’t write because I think I have life figured out (I most definitely don’t). I write because it helps me understand myself a little better. Sometimes I write because I’m confused. Sometimes because I’m angry. Sometimes because I’m grateful. Most of the time, I’m just trying to make sense of being human.
I also think conversation is important. Dialogue is the first step in connection.

Why dialogue matters
I don’t expect everyone to agree with me (in fact, I’d find it really strange if they did), instead I hope that you are willing to challenge my thinking, and I, yours. I truly believe some of the best conversations happen between people who see the world differently because it supports the idea that multiple things can be true at once. My experience doesn’t trump yours, vice versa, but it can add onto the human experience as a whole.
Being willing to listen, ask questions, and respectfully disagree is very important if we want to continue living in an empathetic, harmonious society.
My Faith
My faith is also part of this journey. I’m still learning, still questioning, and still growing so I don’t have all the answers, and I never will. But, I believe that we were all put on this earth by our Heavenly Father and the time we have is meant to be used seeking Him out. Without Him, we are nothing.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1
If anything I write makes you think, question something, start a conversation, or simply remind you that you’re not alone, then this little corner of the internet has done its job. Feel free to reach out! I’d love to chat 🙂
